HELLO TRUE UP
Kim at True Up put up a posting about my Mendocino fat quarter contest. I wanted to say hello! to everyone who is visiting for the first time, I’m overwhelmed by all your amazing comments.
If you don’t already read True Up and you love fabric, then you’ll want to head over there and check it out. It’s a daily read for me, as it is full of great fabric eye candy, information and news.
As for mythical creatures, I spotted a frog yesterday in the pond in our backyard. This might not seem like such a big deal, but our pond is TEENY TINY. I’m not sure where he came from or how he found our pond, there are no bodies of water anywhere near us. Of course, the battery in my camera was completely dead and when I went out this morning to try to take a photo, the froggie was no where to be found. I swear he exists! I’ll keep trying to take his photo.
One last thing, I can’t help but tell you that Rachel McAdams came into the shop this morning. She looked incredible and was super nice. I’m a huge fan, eagerly awaiting her upcoming movie, “The Time Traveler’s Wife”. I L-O-V-E-D the book.

I LOOOOVVVEEED that book. A movie about it should be interesting…I hope they don’t ruin it.
Remember there was that weird movie with Keaunu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, I never saw it but it looked like it had a similar feel to it.
I heard she lives in the neighbourhood, I’ve seen her at Terroni before.
I’ll try to pick up that book. I haven’t got cable since moving, so that I would try to make more time for crafts and reading.
WHAT?!?!
OMG!!!
i love her!
you’re so lucky karyn!
do you have pics with her?
what did she get?
what did she say?
hehehe.
Oh, I read that book from cover to cover on a 13 hour plane ride. AND I love Rachel McAdams, so hooray!
Hello back! How cool to share a post with Rachel McAdams. Good casting choices for that movie — I remember there were some bad ones on the table a while back!
Ack! Did I miss her by much?! I had the pleasure of helping her with a reference question at the library a few years back. I loved that book too, and was really pleased when I heard she was going to be in the movie.
heather – my only hope is that the movie captures the passion between the claire and henry AND that it is nothing like that Keanu Reeves movie. (no offence, Keanu)
angelune – i have the book, if you want to borrow it. i can’t bring it to the shop for you to pick up.
melissa – i didn’t take photos, it was just nice to chat with her like a regular girl. she was sweet as can be.
napoleonquilts – this book was a real page turner for me too, i wanted to ‘live inside’ this book while i was reading it.
kim – hi! hi! you and rachel can be best buds now! who else were they thinking of casting for this movie. i can’t imagine anyone better than rachel.
jennifer – she came in about a half hour before you, actually. i was still dazed when you were there, so i forgot to share the news in person.
that would be great Karyn! I think I’ll come by tomorrow in the late afternoon (Saturday).
Have you ever read any Banana Yoshimoto? I picked up a translated novel that I’m reading right now, and I can give it to you when I’m done. It’s pretty neat to read contemporary japanese lit.
That’s awesome Karyn, Rachel walking into the store.. She’s been here in Toronto for a long while, and I’ve been crossing my fingers that I’ll bump into her one day. But knowing someone who met her, is good enough too! 😀
angelune – i’ve been meaning to read Banana Yoshimoto (if only for the cool name). My favourite is Haruki Murakami and I have all of his books if you want to read any of his work. I’ve put the Time Traveler’s Wife book in my bag to bring down to the workroom today for you, so it will be there for the next time you drop by.
julia – you never know, you still might run into Rachel one of these days!
I am so with you on The Time Traveler’s Wife – definitely one of my favorite books EVER.
emily s – i just found out that the author, Audrey Niffenegger, is working on a second novel (yeah!) and that she is a visual artist as well. just thinking about it makes me want to read it again.
