PORTFOLIO TUNIC : SCILLY FLORA
Portfolio Tunic : Lisette for Simplicity (out of print!)
Liberty of London Tana Lawn Cotton : Scilly Flora
I loved this top in the shorter version, and I love it even more in this longer version. It’s the cute pockets that make it. The Portfolio is just a super pretty design. It’s a shame that the pattern is out of print. But the good news is that Liesl just re-released a new version of the pattern called the Cappuccino Dress.
As always, Liberty is the perfect fabric and this particular print was from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection called The Flower Show. The Scilly Flora print is actually made up of hand drawings done by a class of students in a range of ages. The grey with peachy accents is pretty much my dream colour combo.
When I get hooked onto a pattern, I can’t help but make a few. I can tell that this is going to be a new staple style in my wardrobe.

so beautiful, love the square in the neckline.
very nice! and your background matches the fabric…
Looks great on you Karyn!
Oooh – I really like the styling and I have this pattern!
This looks so comfortable. I just read on Coletterie that you will be carrying the Guide to Sewing with Knits and the Mabel pattern. Please contact me as soon as they are available. Thanks.
As always with you, Karyn, this is an awesome piece and a great pattern/fabric combo. Love it.
So great, as always. Perfect combination of fabric and pattern. I hope I can someday find a copy of the out of print pattern, as that square detail is just so charming.
gorgeous! i have a denim one and love it SO much! i need to make a few more too, especially in some prints. the way those pockets are built into the design just makes me swoon… Liesl is a genius.
I just got someone to sell the pattern to me! Found her on Instagram. Can’t wait to make it.
Even when I follow the pattern maker’s guidelines on size, my pieces always turn out too big. Just purchased this Lisette pattern. Just curious. . .What size did you make? Thanks so much!
I made the smallest size on the pattern and it fits me well. Have you made any of the Lisette or Simplicity patterns before and had this size issue?
Years ago, I made a pant from simplicity which turned out way too big. Lately, I’ve made a few pieces from a Japanese sewing book. I measure a medium but always make the x-small which fits much better. Obviously that styling is meant to be very roomy. For Lisette, I measure a size 10 (34″ bust) but worry it will be too big. My hips are small measuring for the size 6. Might be best to do a muslin test even though I hate to take time to make something that’s not so wearable.
