The Double Time Quilt Along has officially started

The Double Time Quilt Along has officially started! I’m blown away by everyone who has signed up to join us for this six week event. We had a kick off meeting this morning on Zoom and I loved seeing everyone’s fabric picks. This week is gathering supplies and picking fabrics so it’s not too late to grab the pdf pattern and join the fun.

We’re doing Milestone prizes along the way. Make sure you’re on the email list and post a photo of your fabric selects before Friday - include #doubletimeqal and tag @_theworkroom to be entered to win!

It couldn’t be a busier/nuttier time to be starting a QAL the same week we are moving the workroom out of Parkdale, but the joy I felt seeing everyone excited to make this quilt in community this morning was pure magic.

A very special visit to @merchantandmills … one

A very special visit to @merchantandmills … one of the top things on my wish list for this trip to England was to visit Rye and to see the home of Merchant & Mills in person.

It surpassed all my expectations and one of the best parts was meeting and chatting with the wonderful team behind the scenes. How could you not be inspired surrounded by all that lovely fabric?!

Of course, I had to wear my new MM Cawley Dress in Painterly Rouge in honour of the occasion.

Is visiting Merchant & Mills on your wish list? I’m thinking about putting together a mini guide to Rye - it is my new favourite town.

Jumped across the pond to celebrate turning 50! St

Jumped across the pond to celebrate turning 50! Still wrapping my head around how this can even be true, but grateful for a rare getaway to mark the occasion. How lovely to explore new places and revisit so many old favourites.

October is already a whirlwind month that started

October is already a whirlwind month that started with @_theworkroom 17 Year anniversary celebration and pop up Maker Market in Sprucedale, just a few days ago.

Sometimes it’s nice to live in the moment and let it sink in before doing a recap of a perfect day. Everyone involved put so much work into getting ready for this day and we could not have asked for better weather to have our first outdoor market. The sun was shining and the leaves 🍂 were showing off their peak Fall colours!

We got to set up cafe tables and seating by the dahlias, hung the original Double Time quilts on our barn, welcomed neighbours and friends from afar, including our chartered bus group from Parkdale. Thank you to everyone who was there on Saturday! I loved seeing all our spaces alive with such great community energy.

None of this ever happens without @_theworkroom team and extended family who are the true gift this journey has created. 🩷✨🩷

It never stops being scary taking chances and hoping folks will show up and support your wild ideas. Seventeen years and I still believe there is still so much more magic we can create together. Thank you. I love you.
